DECRA Roofing Systems purchased by Fletcher Building 

Corona, CA - Tasman Roofing Products, manufacturer of DECRA Roofing Systems, was recently acquired 
by New Zealand based Fletcher Building.  This transaction included the sale of all divisions within the 
Tasman Building Products Group of companies.  The transaction was completed September 30, 2003.   
Fletcher Building is New Zealand's largest building materials manufacturer and distributor with operations in 
concrete, steel, plasterboard, laminates, panel products and aluminum extrusion for residential and 
commercial construction.  Fletcher Building posted fiscal 2003 operating earnings of NZ$331 million on 
revenues of NZ$3,221 million.

The former Tasman Building Product companies will join the Building Products Division of Fletcher Building.   
According to Fletcher's Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ralph Waters, "The acquisition is a logical extension of 
our building products envelope in New Zealand, enhances our Australian position and provides further 
growth opportunities.  It fully meets all our investment criteria - good industry structure, leading market 
positions, capable management and attractive financial parameters.  It is a business we have been 
interested in acquiring for some time." 

With the acquisition, Tasman Roofing Products will continue to be the market leader in stone coated steel 
roofing.  "This acquisition will propel DECRA sales in North America to meet the increasing demand for metal 
roofing," noted Bo Hudson, President of Tasman.  "The strength and financial stability of Fletcher Building 
will allow us to continue growth in our operations while increasing market share."
