Rules and Requirements
It’s easy to submit your roofing project to the contest. And it’s free, so there’s nothing to lose.
Contractors are encouraged to submit multiple projects, so don’t hold back!
Simply follow these submission rules:
- The project must feature DECRA roofing profiles from our selection of shingle, shake, and tile metal roofing.
- The project must be completed by December 22, 2025 and submitted using our official form.
You’ll notice the form asks for details about your project. This is your time to shine! Tell us what makes the project stand out and why it deserves to win.
Did you overcome any unique installation challenges? Past winners have tackled everything from complex architectural designs to extreme weather conditions.
Be sure to share why the property owner chose DECRA. Was it the Class A fire rating? The warranty coverage for winds up to 120 miles per hour and hailstones up to 2.5 inches in diameter? Or the wide range of colors and styles that match their design preferences?
The more insight you provide, the more compelling your submission will be. We want the full story and the craftsmanship behind it.
How the Judging Works
How is a winner chosen? The DECRA team narrows down submissions to six finalists at the end of the year. Then, images from those finalists’ roofing projects are shared on social media, where DECRA’s followers vote through a survey. The project with the most votes is crowned the DECRA Metal Roofing Project of the Year.
What really makes a difference to voters? High-quality photos! The more you submit, the better. Be sure to include images from different angles. Aerial images taken by drone tend to stand out the most. Close-up shots are great too, especially if your project features unique architectural details.
Timeline for Submissions and Voting
The submission period is officially open, so feel free to send in your projects now!
As a reminder, submissions will be accepted through Monday, December 22, 2025. Our team will be reviewing entries for the remainder of the month. We’ll select the six finalists by January 5, 2026.
Voting on social media is open to followers from January 12 through January 26, 2026. The winner will then be announced on January 30, 2026.
